The Story Behind the KBS Products

By popular demand from audiences on her performance tours, Kathryn Beisner has recorded her stories of WWII women pilots, rodeo cowgirls and baseball players of the early 1900's so they can be enjoyed by audiences everywhere, anytime. It is the first audio book in a series called Ordinary Women with Extraordinary Spirit!®

Beisner's collection of these stories sprang from her interest in "ordinary" women who followed a passion for something they wanted to do and strongly believed in, not to be first, rich or famous but for the love of it! In most cases, whether talking to a ball player or a pilot, the women Kathryn interviewed said, "Those were the best times of my life!"

With appreciation and entertaining attention to detail, Beisner researched her material through reading and interviews with authors and actual women who lived the dreams...and now have made history! With the information she collected, Kathryn Beisner wrote a presentation that superbly dovetails the three subjects, spanning the time period from 1870 to the late 1940's.

At KBS Productions, we believe there are endless stories to tell about women who have made contributions to our history, so many of whom have not been recognized. Beisner's passion is to tell the stories of "ordinary women":  you and me, our sisters, aunts and mothers—women who have made a difference, not necessarily women who have made the front page.

Beisner tours with live performances but, through this recording, we (Kathryn Beisner and KBS Productions, Inc.) are mutually committed to making these and future stories available to listeners everywhere so that the thrill of women's history, adventure, and humor can be shared.

Beisner has worn hers whale watching in the Atlantic and hiking the glacier at the foot of Mt. McKinley in Alaska, but her favorite time to wear it is when she's writing!
